Life and Death of Religious Life

There is a fascinating article Fr Benedict Groeschel here on the Life and Death of Religious Life, it was first printed in First Things. He belongs to one of those new thriving religious communities, the lean, hairy, ascetic Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.

The order of religious sisters which Fr Groeschel refers to was the IHM Sisters. There is a very good interview with Dr Coulson who, with Carl Rogers, was responsible for the infiltration of the philosophy of self-affirmation into the order - leading to it's swift destruction.
